6th USPE European Police Championship Handball Women

Balatonfüred/Hungary / 13th - 20th September 2025,

From 13 to 20 September 2025, the city of Balatonfüred, Hungary proudly hosted the 6th edition of the USPE European Police Championship in Women's Handball. Seven national police teams competed in both group and knockout stages, delivering thrilling matches and showcasing outstanding sportsmanship.

Final Rankings:

  1. Germany – Gold Medal
  2. Norway – Silver Medal
  3. Denmark – Bronze Medal
  4. Hungary
  5. France
  6. Austria
  7. Slovakia

Individual Awards:
  • Most Valuable Player (MVP): Hanna Horváth (Hungary)
  • Best Goalkeeper: Lena Schmid (Germany)
  • Top Scorer: Anna-Maria Spielvogel (Germany) – 41 goals

Fair Play Award:
  • Austria – Honored for exemplary sportsmanship and fair play

The championship was a celebration of athletic excellence, fair play and friendship. Congratulations to all teams and award winners!

The Union Sportive des Polices d’Europe extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Hungarian Police Sport Federation for their warm hospitality, impeccable organization, and excellent conditions for both competition and recovery. Their dedication and professionalism ensured a memorable championship experience for all participants and guests.






Draw Ceremony for the 6th USPE European Police Championship Handball Women,
13th - 20th September 2025, Balatonfüred/Hungary


On 22 August 2025, the official draw for the group stage of the 6th USPE EPC Handball Women, organized by USPE, took place at the headquarters of the European Handball Federation (EHF) in Vienna, Austria.

The event was honored by the presence of:

  • Andreas Röhner, USPE Vice President
  • Oliver Schürch, USPE Treasurer
  • Ivo Velchev, USPE Secretary General
  • Martin Hausleitner, EHF Secretary General
  • Markus Glaser, EHF Chief Sports Officer
During the visit, the USPE delegation also held a meeting with Mr. Michael Wiederer, President of the EHF, where they discussed the importance of continued cooperation between the two organizations in promoting police sport across Europe.

The tournament promises dynamic and competitive matches, with each participating nation striving for the prestigious championship title.






4th European Women's Police Football Championship – Final round

The Final round of the 4th USPE EPC Football Women took place from June 16th to 23rd in the city of Lohne, Germany.

The tournament concluded with decisive victory for the host nation as the German police team claimed the championship title with a commanding performance throughout the competition, demonstrating exceptional skills and teamwork, leaving no doubt about their dominance over all opponents.

The French team earned a well-deserved second place, while the Austrian team secured third place, completing the podium standings.

Group Stage Highlights:

  • Group A: Germany stood tall with 20 goals and a +20-goal difference.
  • Group B: France led with 7 points, trailed closely by Austria.

  • 7th: Netherlands 2 – 0 Ireland
  • 5th: Norway 2 – 1 Sweden
  • Semis: France 3 – 1 UK; Germany 4 – 0 Austria

The draw for the Final Round of the 4th USPE EPC Football Women took place on May 6, 2025, at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. The tournament will be held from June 16 to June 23, 2025, in Lohne, Germany.

4th USPE EPC Football Women 2025 – Qualification Match 3

The Qualification Match 3 of the 4th USPE EPC Football Women 2025 took place from 19th to 21st March 2025 in Dublin, Ireland with the following result:

Ireland: 3 – Czech Republic: 0

Team Ireland won the game 3-0 and has qualified for the Final Round of this USPE EPC Football Women from 16th to 23rd June 2025 in Lohne/Germany.

USPE Secretary General Ivo Velchev would kindly like to thank the host, Coiste Siamsa, especially Chairperson Chief Commissioner of Garda Síochána Paula Hilman as well as the Secretary General David Mansfield and Football Rep. Richie Pender for the excellent organization of this Qualification Match and hospitality.

1st Meeting of the USPE Executive Committee 2025

The 1st Meeting of the USPE Executive Committee (EC) in its new composition took place from 12th to 14th March 2025 in Monaco.

During the two days of intensive work and discussions, important issues related to the future of the European Police Championships from the USPE Sports calendar were discussed.

USPE President Georgios Tzatzakis and the new elected USPE Secretary General Ivo Velchev would kindly like to thank the host, the President of Association Sportivede la Sûreté Publique of Monaco, Mr. Bastien Isaia, the Secretary General of Association Sportivede la Sûreté Publique of Monaco, Mr. Frederic Ristorto and his whole engaged team, for the excellent organization of this meeting and the great hospitality.

The 1st Meeting of the USPE Technical Commission (TC) in its new composition took place from 06th to 08th March 2025 in Floriana/Malta.

During the two days of intensive work and discussions, important issues related to the future of the European Police Championships from the USPE Sports calendar were discussed.

USPE President Georgios Tzatzakis and the new elected USPE Secretary General Ivo Velchev would kindly like to thank the host, Maltese Commissioner of Police, Mr. Angelo Gafa’, as well as the President of the Malta Police Sports Committee (MPSC), Mr. Malcolm Brandon Sammut and his whole engaged team, for the excellent organization of this meeting and the great hospitality.





4th USPE EPC Football Women 2025 – Qualification Match 1

The Qualification Match 1 of the 4th USPE EPC Football Women 2025 took place from 7th to 8th January 2025 in Leicestershire/United Kingdom with the following result:

United Kingdom: 2 – Hungary: 2

Team United Kingdom won the game 5-4 after shootout penalties and has qualified for the Final Round of this EPC from 16th to 23rd June 2025 in Lohne/Germany.

USPE Secretary General Ivo Velchev would kindly like to thank the host, Police Sport United Kingdom (PSUK) – GB Women’s Football Team, especially Chairperson Vanessa Jardine as well as the Team Manager Jemma Connor-Iommi and Women’s Football Section Secretary Carly Humphreys for the excellent organization of this Qualification Match and hospitality.

The Qualification Match 2 of the 4th USPE EPC Football Women 2025 took place from 13th to 14th November 2024 in Malmö/Sweden with the following result:

Sweden: 2 – Denmark: 0

Team Sweden has qualified for the Final Round of this EPC from 16th to 23rd June 2025 in Lohne/Germany.
